General specifications:
Specifications for a “multipurpose” homemade bench system with modules for:
pumping,
switching (commutation),
mixing (homogenization)
and acquisition of analytical signal (data acquisition)
The system consists of physical (hardware) and logical (software) components.
The physical components will be responsible for:
handling of liquid fluids (or gases)
control of valves and detectors
transduction and processing of electrical and/or light signals, for automated data acquisition
For fluid handling, on a milliliter scale, will require:
reservoirs,
tubes,
connectors,
valves
compartments for mixing and detection (flow cells)
Other electrical/electronic components will be needed for the control of valves and detectors, processing and automated data acquisition.
For automated control and monitoring, the Arduino board will be used as an interface between a computer and the physical components for monitoring and control.
As a computer we can use a desktop, laptop (notebook) or a Raspberry Pi board.
